Study programme introduction

During the study programme introduction you receive important information about your studies. Participation is highly recommended.

During the study programme introduction you receive important information about your programme and studying at VU Amsterdam. You can also meet your fellow students. Participation is highly recommended, so make sure you are there! The introduction is considered the start of the programme and you will miss out on important information if you do not participate.

The dates for the study programme introduction are:

  • Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 August for bachelor's programmes
  • Thursday 28 and  Friday 29 August for master's programmes 

Soon you will receive more detailed info about the specific date and schedule of your study programme introduction. This info will also be published here. 

Bachelor's programmes

  • VU Introduction Days (2 or 5 days)

    The study programme introduction days for bachelor students is part of the VU Bachelor Introduction Days (20 until 26 August 2025). So, if you’ve signed-up for the VU Bachelor Introduction Days you will automatically join the study programme introduction. For the Bachelor Introduction Days you can choose between a 5 days programme or a 2 days introduction programme with a focus on getting to know VU Amsterdam, your studies and the faculty. More information and the answers to many questions can be found here.

  • Faculty of Science (BETA)

    During the study programme introduction you will receive important information about your study programme and studying at VU Amsterdam. You will also meet your fellow students, the programme coordinator, FSR and study advisors. The study programme introduction is free of charge. Write the date in your agenda. For important information you will need at the beginning of your studies, click on the Canvas link of your programme and then click further on the 'Modules' item. You can only log into Canvas once you are fully enrolled and have accepted the Canvas' invitation email.

    The introduction for bachelorstudenten Archaeology, Ancient Studies en Griekse en Latijnse Taal en Cultuur is organized together with the UvA. In the summer you will receive more information about your study programme and the specific rules that apply to your study.

    Bachelor Creative Technology

    The programme introduction of Creative Technology will take place on August 25, 26 and 27 at the University of Twente in Enschede.

    During the study programme introduction you will receive important information about your programme and studying at VU. The programme introduction is free of charge. This introduction is compulsory if you obtained your bachelor's degree at another university. If you already study at the VU, the meeting is also useful, but not all information will be new to you. Make a note of the date in your agenda!
