During the study programme introduction you receive important information about your studies. Participation is highly recommended.

During the study programme introduction you receive important information about your programme and studying at VU Amsterdam. You can also meet your fellow students. Participation is highly recommended, so make sure you are there! The introduction is considered the start of the programme and you will miss out on important information if you do not participate.

Programme introduction (starting in February)

  • Faculty of Law

    Masters's Law

    On the digital education platform Canvas, you will find the full programme of the course introduction and the link for the online course introduction. Don't have a VUnetID yet? If so, make sure you complete your course registration as soon as possible.

    We look forward to welcoming all incoming Master's students to the Faculty of Law on Thursday, January 29 (Dutch program) or Friday, January 30 (English program) during the Programme Introduction 2026.

    This introduction is the perfect opportunity to prepare for a successful start to your Master’s program. You will receive important information about VU’s academic resources, such as the University Library, Career Services, and study advisors. In addition to the general introduction, each Master’s program and specialization will host a dedicated meet-and-greet session. For more details, see Canvas.

    Attending the introduction is the best way to start your Master’s program off right. Don’t miss it!

    Note: In addition to this general programme introduction, introductory sessions are also organised for the various Master’s programmes and specialisations. The dates and locations are listed below. You can find the full overview with more information in our Canvas environment.

    General introduction for the English-taught Master’s programmes and specialisations

    For: English-language specialisations: European and International Law, International Migration and Refugee Law, International Technology Law 

    When: Friday 30 January (English)

    Time: 13.00 – 13.45 hrs.

    Location: Main Building, Room HG-14A20

    Programme: Presentation Academic advisors, Career Services and University Library. Complementary to the general introduction, the specialisations organize an introductory moment. For more information, see Canvas. Log in with your vunetid.

    After the introduction, each Master’s programme will host its own meet & greet. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your lecturers, fellow students, and learn more about your programme or specialisation.

    We’re looking forward to meeting all upcoming premaster students at School of Business and Economics (SBE) on Friday 30 January during the Premaster Introduction 2026!

    The Premaster Introduction is the best way to prepare for the start of your premaster's programme; you will receive essential information about the premaster’s programme and what it's like to study at VU University Amsterdam. You’ll meet the programme management and your fellow students, you can get help with registering for your courses and you get to know the university. Participating in the Premaster Introduction will ensure a good start to your academic journey, so don't miss it!
