At the study programme introduction you will receive important information you'll need during your studies. Participation is highly recommended.

At the study programme introduction you will receive important information about your programme and studying at VU Amsterdam. You can also meet your fellow students. Participation is highly recommended, so make sure you are there! The introduction is considered the start of the programme and you will miss out on important information if you do not participate.

Below you will find more info about your study programme introduction, please note its date in your agenda. The full programme and location will be announced soon. Keep an eye on this page.

Bachelor's programmes

  • VU Introduction Days (2 or 5 days)

    The Study programme introduction days for bachelor students is part of the VU Bachelor Introduction Days (21 until 27 August 2024). So, if you’ve signed-up for the VU Bachelor Introduction Days you will automatically join the Study programme introduction as well. For the Bachelor Introduction Days you can choose between going all in including an evening programme (5 days) or participating in a shorter introduction programme with a focus on getting to know VU Amsterdam and your studies as well as the faculty (2 days). More information and the answers to many questions can be found here.

  • Faculty of Science (BETA)

    During the study programme introduction you will receive important information about your study programme and studying at VU Amsterdam. You will also meet your fellow students, the program coordinator, FSR and study advisors. The study programme introduction is free of charge.     Communication Science, Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology, Political Science

    These programmes have a joint introduction afternoon on campus, because all these programmes are part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. During this afternoon, you get to know the Faculty, your programme and your fellow students. You will first be welcomed by the Faculty and then you will meet your fellow students from your own study programme for important information about your studies. The Study Association of our faculty EOS will provide a social part with introductory activities and a closing drink. If you have any questions about registering for courses, you can also drop by during the Education Office's walk-in hour. You can also read the manual of all VU's digital systems such as Canvas and VU.nl. You do not have to register for this afternoon, nor is it compulsory, but we do think it is very important that you come.

    Bachelor Creative Technology

    The programme introduction of Creative Technology will take place on August 26, 27 and 28 at the University of Twente in Enschede.

  • Faculty of Law (LAW)

    During the obligatory study programme introduction, you will receive important information about your degree programme and studying at VU Amsterdam. You will also get to know your fellow students and can familiarise yourself with the academic advisors, the PPI trajectory, the study associations and the FSR (Faculty Student Counsil). The programme introduction is free of charge. Make a note of the date in your agenda!

Participating in the Study Programme Introduction will ensure a good start to your academic journey, so don't miss it!

    During the study programme introduction you will receive important information about your programme and studying at VU. You can also meet your fellow students and get to know the student advisors, Career Services, the study associations and the FSR (Faculty Student Council). The programme introduction is free of charge. This introduction is compulsory if you obtained your bachelor's degree at another university. If you already study at the VU, the meeting is also useful, but not all information will be new to you. Make a note of the date in your agenda!
