Academic advisor

The academic advisor can assist you with study-related questions, such as questions about your study planning. All conversations are strictly confidential.

Are you not yet a VU Amsterdam student?
The academic advisor is there to help enrolled VU Amsterdam students only. If you are looking for a study programme and need help, please consult our information activities that can help you choose the right programme. It also provides contact details should you have questions.

The academic advisor supports you

You can consult the academic advisor for all study-related questions. Also for personal tutoring and practical study advice you can reach out to the academic advisor. See below what questions you can ask your academic advisor. All conversations with the academic advisor is strictly confidential. During the meeting the academic advisor will take notes in the Digital Student Dossier, which is only accessible to the academic advisor and to yourself.

We strongly recommend you to discuss any questions and/or problems as soon as possible!
The academic advisor is there to listen to you, is often able to answer your question(s) and is happy to help you in finding possible solutions for problems. If the academic advisor is not able to help you directly, s/he can often refer you to another person or organisation within or outside VU Amsterdam for further guidance or support.
