Studying with a disability

Do you have a disability and do you need facilities or support during your studies?

VU Amsterdam offers various facilities to support you if you study for example with a physical or psychological disability, a chronic illness, dyslexia or ASD. Such as a lift pass, extra guidance for students with ASD and rest room etc. Be sure to request a facility well in advance. For exam facilities, it is wise to do so three weeks before the exam to ensure timely granting or denial.

Do you have questions about studying with a disability? Then contact the Info Point for Studying with a Disability (SMF). Here you can be referred to the right place or person. The SMF Info Point is also available to you if you want to get involved, have a comment, or if you run into any problems during your studies. At the bottom of this page you will find the contact details of the SMF Info Point, you can also schedule a call during the walk-in consultation hour. For requests for facilities, your student advisor is always your first point of contact.

Four times a year, the SMF Info Point sends out a newsletter covering the latest developments, upcoming events, and useful links. Click here to read the latest newsletter, and here to sign up for the newsletter.
