Want to visit the VU campus?

To learn more about a degree programme at VU Amsterdam, you can attend a Bachelor’s or Master's Day. For prospective Bachelor's students we also offer a Taster Day or the possibility to be a Student for a Day.

VU Amsterdam organises a Bachelor’s Day and separate Master's Day twice a year. This is an open day you can attend presentations and talk to representatives from all of our programmes. Most Bachelor's programmes also offer the opportunity to attend a Taster Day. Taster Days usually take place in November/December and February/March. Some programmes offer additional opportunities until June to spend a day on campus with a current student.

  • Bachelor’s Day & Master's Day
The Bachelor’s Day and Master's Day are open days where everything is focused on helping you choose a study programme. You can learn about the degree programmes at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Ask all your questions at the various information markets and get to know our teachers, students and academic advisors. Our International Office is available for all your questions concerning admission, studying in the Netherlands, housing, and visa. During the information rounds, workshops and sample lectures, you will get an impression of your favourite programmes. Do you not yet know exactly what you want to study? We are happy to help you get started with our workshops on choosing a study programme. You can find out everything you need to know about studying at VU Amsterdam, including our campus, degree programmes, teachers, students and facilities that you can use during your studies.
  • Taster Day and Student for a Day (only for Bachelor's programmes)
During a Taster Day, you will explore a programme with other prospective students and attend a lecture and a seminar. As a Student for a Day, you will follow along with a current student during his/her day on campus. A number of programmes offer both of these options. There are also programmes that are organizing their activities online. Participating in one of these activities will give you a more complete impression of the study programme and the students. This will help you determine whether the study programme matches your interests and abilities.

Do you want to attend a Taster Day or be a Student for a Day? Register here.

  • A suitable study programme
Choosing a study programme is not always easy. Unfortunately, every academic year there are students who discover that they have chosen a study programme that is not right for them. You can minimise the chance that this will happen to you by learning everything you can about your options and participating in information activities. VU Amsterdam offers various information activities that can help you make your choice. We also offer a step-by-step guide for helping you determine which programme suits you best. Are you in doubt about your chosen study programme and are you thinking about switching? Then follow our Study Switch Action Plan (only for Bachelor's students).
  • Get in contact with our International Office
Every degree programme has its own International Student Advisor (ISA). If you are applying for one of our English-taught programmes you can contact the ISA directly for any questions related to the study programme, admission requirements, the application procedure, studying in the Netherlands and more.

Do you have a question for a current student? Ask one of our VU Ambassadors.

VU Amsterdam is represented abroad by a number of cultural institutions and education recruitment agents. Check the details.
