Do you aspire to become a data analyst, AI specialist, or interdisciplinary researcher?
At Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, you can follow a master’s programme in data science, mathematics, or artificial intelligence — or combine these with domains such as language, economics, or social sciences.

Pathways: From Bachelor's to Master's
Suppose you have completed a bachelor’s degree (WO or HBO) in mathematics, computer science, econometrics, business analytics, or a related field. In that case, you can continue at VU Amsterdam in specialised master’s programmes such as Business Analytics or Econometrics and Operations Research.
But that’s not all: the data-driven world touches every discipline. At VU, you can also study data science in the context of language (Language & AI) or social sciences (Social Sciences for a Digital Society) — asking questions like:
- How do we build algorithms that do not discriminate?
- How can AI deepen our understanding of language?
- How can data be used effectively in reducing poverty?
Other areas of application include health, sport, and human movement sciences.
