The Artificial Intelligence Master’s programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam focuses on hybrid intelligence, where AI systems and humans collaborate. The programme consists of broad courses that focus on core AI topics, as well as courses devoted to your chosen area of specialisation.
You can specialize in your area of interest by selecting from a wide range of elective courses, or by following one of the following dedicated tracks:
- Cognitive Science: offered in collaboration with the Psychology department, this track explores the interdisciplinary study of the mind and cognition, combining insights from AI, neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy.
- AI for Health: developed in cooperation with Medical Informatics at Amsterdam UMC (UvA), this track focuses on medical informatics, medical AI, and the integration of machine learning and reasoning methods for healthcare applications.
This structure ensures that you develop both a broad understanding of artificial intelligence and deep expertise in a domain that aligns with your interests and career goals.
