The ABRI Pre-PhD Research Training Programme is open for enrollment to VU School of Business and Economics MSc students.
Application and Selection of Students
The admission will be highly selective and requires the recommendation of two faculty members. An interview with the ABRI Doctoral Director will be part of the selection process. The application deadline will be the end of the academic year, but you can apply earlier if you wish and, if admitted, you can start taking courses next to your regular MSc curriculum already.
Admission criteria:
- Enrollment in a regular MSc programme at VU School of Business and Economics
- GPA of 7.5 or higher (based on the bachelor’s degree, available master courses)
- 1.500-word thesis abstract to demonstrate intellectual capabilities and writing
- Strong motivation and enthusiasm for pursuing a research-related career, expressed in a motivation letter
- Recommendation from two academics (please provide name and contact details)
Enrollment
If admitted to the ABRI Pre-PhD Research Training Programme, you can enroll in two ways:
- You may stay enrolled in your regular MSc programme for a second year; you will not graduate even if you complete all courses of your regular MSc curriculum. This option allows you to maintain student status and enjoy associated privileges. You will continue to pay the regular tuition fee.
- You may choose to graduate from your regular MSc programme and then enroll as a contract student (the tuition fee for this alternative amounts to € 2.314 in the academic year 2023/2024).
