CLUE+ is a interfaculty research institute within Vrije Universities Amsterdam and it is chaired by the Faculty of Humanities. Other VU-faculties who participate with their researchers are:
Graduate Schools
CLUE+ collaborates with the Graduate Schools of the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Religion and Theology. The Graduate Schools are responsible for PhD coordination and education. IXA-GO
CLUE+ actively supports researchers in the development of new research projects, from the development of initial ideas, to forming partnerships and facilitating peer-reviews on grant applications. We also cooperate with IXA-GO, the support centre on grant application and valorisation of Vrije Universiteit, who provide training and feedback to researchers who aim to apply for external research funding or valorisation activities.
Research ethics review boards
Researchers have the important moral responsibility to conduct their research with respect and care for participants, as well as the implications of the research for the greater community. For this purpose, ethical review boards have been implemented on the VU.
How ethical dilemmas are dealt with may depend on the type of research. For this reason, the different ethical committees focus on different fields of science. Below you find a list of links to the ethical review boards for the participating faculties of the institute.

Abraham Kuyper Center for Science and Religion
The Abraham Kuyper Center for Science and Religion (AKCSR) places itself at the forefront of inquiry into science and religion. Through interdisciplinary research, it aims to facilitate and stimulate reflection on the big questions raised by the scientific community. The AKCSR forms an integral part of the CLUE+ Knowledge Formation and its History research programme.

ACASA
Amsterdam Centre for Ancient Studies and Archaeology
Amsterdam Centre for Ancient Studies and Archaeology (ACASA) is a joint VU/UVA academic venture and part of the Amsterdam Academic Alliance. It is a collaborative knowledge centre in the fields of ancient studies, classical languages and archaeology. CLUE+ directly assists with the cooperation between the organisations. Several CLUE+ researchers are connected to ACASA, offering expertise and leading diverse, essential research projects.

ACCESS
Amsterdam Centre for Cross-Disciplinary Emotion and Sensory Studies
Amsterdam Centre for Cross-Disciplinary Emotion and Sensory Studies (ACCESS) is an interdisciplinary platform connecting researchers — historians, cultural anthropologists, psychologists, neuroscientists, philosophers and other scholars — interested in the cultural production and expression of emotions and operations of the senses. CLUE+ and ACCESS work together to facilitate an inclusive, effective culture of inter-faculty collaboration within the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

ARCHON
Research school of archaeology
ARCHON is a Dutch interorganisational research and graduate school for archaeology based at the Faculty of Humanities at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The school unites staff members, PhD students and master’s research students from its participating institutions. As a research partner of CLUE+, ARCHON was involved in ‘Finding the Limits of the Limes’, the NWO Talent Programme Vidi award winning research project.

The Amsterdam Centre for Contextual Biblical Interpretation
The Amsterdam Centre for Contextual Biblical Interpretation (CCBI) supports and develops academic research into questions of scriptural interpretation from a modern perspective. It does this by analysing socio-economic and socio-cultural factors and traditional interpretations in historical contexts. CLUE+ works with the CCBI in the Text, Culture, Religion and Heritage research programme.

Environmental Humanities Center
The Environmental Humanities Center (EHC) is an award-winning interdisciplinary research group. It focuses on the ways in which the humanities influence society’s handling of global challenges such as climate change and pollution. The EHC actively works with CLUE+ within the Global History, Heritage and Memory research programme.

HDC
The Centre for Religious History
The Centre for Religious History (HDC) is a platform for research, education and valorisation in the field of the history of religion at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The centre uses an interdisciplinary approach to the history of religion in relation to culture, politics and society. CLUE+ and the HDC work together on various projects such as Monuments of Mosul in Danger.

IALA
International Association of Landscape Archaeology
Promoting interdisciplinary research in landscape archaeology, the International Association of Landscape Archaeology (IALA) brings together archaeologists, cultural and earth scientists and researchers from disciplines related to landscape research. The IALA serves as a platform where findings from the sciences and humanities are presented and discussed. CLUE+ and the IALA work together in the Landscape, Heritage and Society research programme.

SPINlab
Spatial Information Laboratory
The Spatial Information Laboratory (SPINlab) is the centre for research and education in geographic information science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The SPINlab assists CLUE+ in the landscape, heritage and society research programme. It does this, for example, by designing and implementing digital mapping tools and spatial data infrastructures (SDI) for cultural heritage monitoring and research.

Stevin Centre
For History of Science and the Humanities
A platform for research and education, the Stevin Centre for History of Science and the Humanities connects staff from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam who are interested in the history of science, the humanities and other academic disciplines. The centre offers educational courses at the bachelor’s and master’s levels and organises workshops, colloquia and seminars. In association with CLUE+, the Stevin Centre is responsible for the Knowledge Formation and its History research programme.

The Migration and Diversity Centre
Established in 2007 and based at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Migration and Diversity Centre (MDC) is an interdisciplinary platform that allows professors, PhD candidates and researchers to share and exchange research ideas and outcomes. CLUE+ supports the MDC in migration and diversity research within the faculties of law, social sciences and arts at the VU as well as at international universities and research centres.
