Would you like to (re)design your subject together with the help of education specialists from the VU Centre for Teaching & Learning? Then sign up with one or more colleagues for a BREAKOUT session and (re)design your education in the peace and quiet of nature.
In an oasis of peace and quiet, you and your team can focus on (re)designing a subject. In 24 hours - including a good night's sleep - you (re)design your subject with the aim of an overall educational design and a personalised roadmap. The BREAKOUT: (re)design education in nature takes place at the Samaya Conference Centre near Utrecht.
VU employees only pay the registration fee of € 135,-. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay are included. Apply on time, because due to the small-scale set-up there is a limited number of places available.
Winter edition January 2026
This winter, we will organise a unique, one-off winter edition of BREAKOUT: (re)design education in nature. Especially for teaching teams who want to (re)design their education in the run-up to the second academic semester. Date: Tuesday 14 - Wednesday 15 January 2026.
Summer 2026
Prefer (re)designing in summer? Choose from the following two options in 2026:
- on 16 and 17 June 2026: this programme starts on Tuesday 16 June at 1pm and ends on Wednesday 17 June at 1pm.
- on 18 and 19 August 2026: this programme starts on Tuesday 18 August at 1pm and ends on Wednesday 19 August at 1pm.
