On this easy-access teacher development programme, we work together to improve the quality of teaching. Learning is a shared experience. That’s why, for every programme, we offer a safe and inclusive environment that encourages reflection, challenges you and focuses on growth.
Who is it intended for?
The programmes below are aimed at starting teachers and junior lecturers who want to develop their teaching skills. If you have more than four years’ teaching experience, take a look at this page for lecturers with a UTQ to find a programme that suits you better.
Programmes for starting and junior teachers
- Start-to-Teach Day
During the Start-to-teach Day, you will delve into the kind of teacher you want to be. We closely look at what the VU defines as good teaching. We also equip you with tools and techniques that help in your early weeks of teaching. - Incubator for Junior Lecturers
The place to be at VU Amsterdam for junior lecturers from all faculties to meet and inspire one another, swap experiences and develop further as experts in education. - UTQ for Junior Teachers
Are you a junior lecturer with little or no teaching experience? Join the UTQ for junior teachers. In two years you will work on your professional identity, be part of a learning community and obtain your UTQ (BKO). - Pioneers of Education for Junior Teachers
Are you a junior lecturer with a University Teaching Qualification and a drive to learn more about curriculum innovation and educational leadership? Than this may be the programme for you.
