Would you like to work with your programme team to develop a cohesive curriculum, a clear educational vision, and greater coordination within the faculty?
The Visible Learning Trajectories Programme (VLT) supports teaching teams in analysing and optimising the structure and coherence of their curriculum based on learning trajectories. A few spots are still available for the sessions starting in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
What is VLT?
With VLT, you’ll analyse and optimise -under guidance- the structure and coherence of your programme’s curriculum using learning trajectories. The focus is on refining the programme's narrative, translating it into engaging and challenging learning trajectories for students, and fostering greater collaboration within the faculty team.
The programme lasts half a year and consists of five sessions. During these sessions, a team of (senior) faculty members actively works on optimally aligning learning objectives across different levels: from courses to learning trajectories to learning outcomes.
Programme teams participate in the programme for a variety of reasons. For example, to work on:
- a streamlined curriculum with a clear structure
- greater alignment and collaboration among faculty members
- a clear and consistent programme narrative for students based on learning trajectories
- recommendations from an accreditation or Mid-Term Review (MTR), or in preparation for them
- incorporating the A Broader Mind (ABM) philosophy into the curriculum.
What commitment does participation in VLT require?
Participation in the programme requires commitment in time and effort from the programme director and learning trajectories coordinators. Expect approximately 40 hours per person over a six-month period. This support is funded either from internal resources or by the faculty. If you have questions about the options available, please contact the director of education at your faculty.
Support from the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is funded by central VU resources.
There is still room for approximately six programme teams for both Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The programme is open to teaching teams that wish to further strengthen their curriculum, who are seeking guidance in making learning trajectories visible and want to develop these further.
