The festive opening of the India Centre for Transdisciplinary Research on Friday 16 December was followed by the Global Mental Health Summit on Saturday 17 December. This event brought together stakeholders from all over the world, particularly persons with lived experience and practitioners working with vulnerable communities in psychosocial distress. Participants will present ground realities, ideate on problem definitions, and aim to arrive at collaborative and scalable solutions.
On Monday and Tuesday, Athena's researchers Barbara Regeer and Teun Zuiderent-Jerak hosted a two-day workshop on transdisciplinary research, together with the Banyan Academy of Leadership in Mental Health (BALM). The workshop took place at the newly opened India Centre for Transdisciplinary Research. During the workshop, researchers and practitioners looked into what it means to engage in transdisciplinary approaches, and discussed opportunities and barriers that these methodologies present in practice.
