Chiel van der Veen Appointed Associate Professor in Educational Sciences
Chiel van der Veen was recently promoted to associate professor in Educational Sciences. Furthermore, since June 1st, he has become head of the section of Educational Sciences. In his new role, van der Veen will continue his research on learning and social interaction, play, and Developmental Education. A few examples of his work are (1) Iris Bogaers PhD-project on the role of silence during classroom conversations in the upper grades of secondary school, (2) Elizabeth Wynbergs’ PhD-project on young children’s object-oriented play, and (3) an NRO-funded project on dialogic writing as an integrated and meaningful approach to language education.
