The EU-funded project SocKETs, which we are part of, aims at developing a shared understanding of the role of key enabling technologies in society and advocating for the importance of societal engagement in innovation process through a set of dissemination actions. Among them, SocKETs will gather and highlight ‘Societal Engagement Stories’ produced by projects, organisations or individual writers on their experiences with societal engagement and emerging technologies or social challenges.
6 stories with integrated multimedia elements using the ‘snow fall-style storytelling’ technique will be selected and published on the SocKETs website and widely shared on our channels. Anyone engaging citizens with innovation and technology development are invited to suggest stories ideas based on real facts and related to actual experiences.
The stories selected will benefit from a large European exposure and mediatisation and will be supported by science communication professionals with a professional assistance to write and design their Societal Engagement Story. They will come out of this experience with quality writing that they can use elsewhere to enhance their project or story. This call is also the perfect opportunity to build relationships with RRI actors across Europe.
The call ends on 24 February, 23.59 CET. All stories ideas will then be evaluated and selected by the SocKETs Communications and Dissemination Group, whose members are science engagement experts, societal engagement researchers and experts in innovation and technology development from 5 European countries.
