2022 National Essay Contest Award Ceremony

On 15 December, the award ceremony for the 2022 National Essay Contest for students will take place.

A few months ago, VU Amsterdam International Office & the Dutch and Japanese Trade Federation (DUJAT) organised a National Essay Contest 2022 for students across different universities in The Netherlands. The theme of the essay was Energy transition in the Netherlands and Japan: how to benefit from each other through cooperation. This essay contest was organised in an effort to strengthen the relations of The Netherlands with Japan. 

The award ceremony will take place at VU Amsterdam on 15th December at Atrium - Medical Faculty (Time: 16:45 - 19:00). The awards will be given by Mr. Jan van Zanen, Chairman of the Jury and Mayor of The Hague; H.E. Mr. Hidehisa Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan to the Netherlands; Prof. dr. Jeroen JG Geurts - Rector Magnificus, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Mr. Luc Houben, Chairman of Dujat. The winner will win a trip to Japan! 

The contest was open to students from all universities in the Netherlands.

The following universities are represented:

  • The Hague University of Applied Sciences
  • University of Amsterdam
  • Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
  • Wageningen University

The jury members include:

  8. Jens Branum, Lecturer, Faculty of Humanities, Language at VU Amsterdam
  9. Christa de Kemp, Managing Director at Dujat

The ceremony will be combined with a networking reception afterward. Come join us!
