What does it mean to use GenAI in a world where sustainability is becoming increasingly important? In this session, you will explore the environmental costs associated with GenAI and learn how to make conscious decisions about its use.
You will critically assess when GenAI adds value and when alternative approaches may be more appropriate.
At the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Explain the main environmental costs associated with GenAI.
- Make informed decisions about when to use GenAI from a sustainability perspective.
- Analyze and compare the environmental impact of GenAI with other digital and non-digital activities.
- Describe and evaluate alternatives and strategies for reducing the ecological impact of GenAI use.
