This two-year Master’s track is designed for students with a strong interest in ethical and philosophical questions at the intersection of public policy, economics, and governance. EEP students learn to bridge values and evidence, theory and practice, preparing for impactful careers in government, NGOs, think tanks, and beyond. Grounded in VU Amsterdam’s mission of global citizenship, the programme trains future leaders in ethical, just, and sustainable decision-making.
You’ll follow this track alongside another Master’s programme—such as in economics, political science, or public policy—allowing you to earn two degrees in two years: one in Philosophy and one in another discipline. That makes EEP a powerful combination that gives you a competitive edge.
The track is also well-suited for PPE graduates who are pursuing a Master’s in economics, political science, or public policy and want to continue studying philosophy at the graduate level.
Ethics, Economics, and Policy (EEP) is a specialisation of the two-year Master’s in Philosophy.
