They learn to evaluate public policy through a normative lens, and to formulate policy advice grounded in philosophical clarity. EEP graduates are trained to communicate with audiences across disciplines, and to take initiative in addressing pressing societal problems in national and global contexts.
On completing this Master’s programme, you can combine your background in policy, economics, or governance with advanced ethical reasoning. As a graduate of the EEP track, you’ll be equipped to assess complex public challenges—like climate transition, AI governance, or health equity—from both a normative and evidence-based perspective.
As a graduate, you can start a career as a policy analyst, consultant, ethics advisor, or researcher in organizations where moral clarity and interdisciplinary insight are essential. These include think tanks, NGOs, sustainability firms, government ministries (e.g. Economic Affairs and Climate), and supranational bodies like the European Commission. You can work at/with/for institutions such as the Rathenau Institute, CPB, WRR, Greenpeace, UN bodies, consultancy firms like PwC or Accenture, and public-sector agencies like Zorginstituut Nederland. EEP also prepares you for a PhD in philosophy—where your ability to bridge theory and practice gives you a strong competitive edge.
