Are you interested in the answers to these questions and would you like to learn more about linguistics, language development and language use, as well as the role that language plays in communication and society? Then the Applied Linguistics programme within the Bachelor's programme in Communication and Information Sciences is the perfect fit for you.
In this fully English-taught programme, you will study how language systems are structured and how you can study and analyse processes of language acquisition and language use. You will do this at various levels: at the individual level (why don't all children learn language effortlessly?), at the societal level (what role does language play in cultural connection in a multilingual society?) and at the technological level (how do Large Language Models work and how reliable is their output?). In this way, you will learn to apply linguistic knowledge to current and relevant issues.
