At the VU School of Religion and Theology, theologians and scholars of religion engage in dialogue and mutual learning across a wide range of religious traditions. The study of sacred texts—such as the Bible, the Qur'an, and others—plays a central role in both our research and teaching. We explore these texts from their origins and content to their influence on contemporary society and politics. This open and interdisciplinary approach makes VU SRT a uniquely inspiring environment for faith leaders, academics, and professionals working in the domains of theology, spirituality, philosophy of life, and the search for meaning.
Our graduates go on to pursue diverse careers—as pastors, spiritual leaders, chaplains, educators, researchers, policy advisors, and professionals in sectors such as (international) business, culture, media, healthcare, education, government, journalism, conflict mediation, the police, and the military.
