Electives

You can widen the scope of your studies by taking electives. The options vary per degree programme. You may need approval from the Examination Board.

In the first semester of the third year of your Bachelor’s degree programme, you can widen the scope of your studies during your elective space. Also, some Master's degree programmes offer this option. The opportunities vary per degree programme. You can find more information in the Teaching and Examination Regulations (TER) of your degree programme or in the Study guide. In certain situations you may need approval from the Examination Board first.

Electives per faculty

The rules regarding electives may differ per faculty.

  • ACTA

    There is no room for electives within the Bachelor's and Master's programmes of the Faculty of Dentistry (ACTA).

  • BETA

    The Faculty of Science offers various electives.

  • FBMS

    The Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences offers various electives.

  • FRT

    The Faculty of Religion and Theology offers various electives.

  • FSS

    The Faculty of Social Sciences offers various electives.

  • HUM

    The Faculty of Humanities offers various electives.

  • LAW

    The Faculty of Law offers various electives.

  • MED

    There is no room for electives within the Bachelor's and Master's programmes of the Faculty of Medicine.

  • SBE

    The School of Business and Economics offers various electives.

There is no room for electives within the Bachelor's and Master's programmes of the Faculty of Dentistry (ACTA).

The Faculty of Science offers various electives.

The Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences offers various electives.

The Faculty of Religion and Theology offers various electives.

The Faculty of Social Sciences offers various electives.

The Faculty of Humanities offers various electives.

The Faculty of Law offers various electives.

There is no room for electives within the Bachelor's and Master's programmes of the Faculty of Medicine.

The School of Business and Economics offers various electives.
