For the workplace analysis, the Participation Service Point completes a questionnaire together with the manager of the relevant department. This results in an overview of the physical accessibility of the workplace, the core tasks of the job, the team, the management set-up, the commitment required and the duration of the assignment. This overview is then used to gain an understanding of the potential and the limitations of the position and the workplace. For example, it may not be possible to make the workplace wheelchair accessible. This can then be taken into account during the recruitment and selection process.
Participation analysis & creating support
What attitudes and ideas about inclusion exist within the unit? Have existing employees had any experience of hiring employees with an occupational disability? What image do people have of this target group? These are questions that need to be asked in advance. The Participation Service Point can help you carry out this analysis. They can also provide more information on the subject, provide an accurate impression of the target group of candidates with an occupational disability and the ways in which the task can be fulfilled.
Resources
The UWV (Employee Insurance Agency) or the municipality provides subsidies for adapting the workplace for employees covered by the Participation Act and for certain aids and devices. Subsidies are also available for an in-house job coach to provide personal support in the workplace. The Participation Service Point can help the department apply for these resources. More information on this topic can be found on the Subsidies page.
