Training courses by theme

Last updated on 10 December 2024
VU Learning & Development offers training courses and programmes that connect with the following VU themes.
  • Social safety

In a good study and work climate, there is respect, attention and understanding for one another. This climate requires an active contribution from everyone working at VU Amsterdam. Not only in terms of their own behaviour, but also by adopting a vigilant attitude towards any form of undesirable behaviour they observe in their own work or study environment.

To support employees and managers on this topic, we have the following training courses to match:

You may encounter behaviour that makes you feel uncomfortable or even unsafe. It is important that support and advice is available in these situations. If you want more information about social safety at VU, then take a look at the Social safety page.

  • Hybrid working

VU Amsterdam facilitates working from home in combination with working on campus in a hybrid form of working. We have discovered the benefits of working from home, such as less travel time and more flexibility. We have also learned which aspects of our work require the campus setting, such as meeting and developing solidarity with colleagues.

Good cooperation and staying connected does not always come naturally. Do you want to work with your team on this? Then follow the Workshop hybrid collaboration.

If you want to know more about this theme, go to the page Hybrid working.

  • Leadership

Leadership in a professional organisation like VU Amsterdam deserves recognition and appreciation. After all, it is an art to manage a team of autonomous professionals each with their own specialisations and ambitions. As a leader you guard the balance between individual interests, common ambition and scarce resources. You inspire colleagues and bring cohesion and direction. In this way, you make an essential contribution to the meaningful VU Amsterdam that we aim to be for our students and society.

If you want to develop further as a manager, sign up for one of our training courses:

Do you want more information about leadership at VU? Then take a look at the page Leadership.

  • Sustainable employability

At VU Amsterdam there are various support opportunities for employees for healthy working and personal development. The Sustainable employability page contains some examples. In addition, everyone is free to use the online training courses from GoodHabitz. On this platform there are over 150 online training courses that are really practice-orientated.
