World history teaches us that the art of persuasion is dangerous stuff. The word a weapon; learn to recognize it and to use it. After an extensive first block where we try to explain the How of persuasion by teaching you about performance, argumentation, storytelling, style, body language and more rhetorical tools, we commit the second block to the What, the cultural value of rhetoric and its application in society. The question always remains: if you apply all the tricks and turns, what are the ethical consequences of that? What do speakers do with their audience and who is responsible for their actions that they have recommended? Think Hitler, leaders of sects, populists in politics but also modern influencers and the pressure of marketing and advertising. This course consists of around 50% skill and analyzing lessons and 50% theoretical lessons.
