Are new technologies smarter than us? Do we still need expertise?

Sem01 (2026-2027) Developing and Organizing Expertise in the Age of AI

We are all in an era where various technologies (e.g., LLMs, robots, and other generative algorithms) are transforming our skills. Do we need doctors, accountants, lawyers, programmers anymore? What kind of new professions and experts will emerge? How should we go after our study, internship and work to not only survive but also thrive as an expert? In this course, we examine how our expertise is going to be transformed by these technologies and how we proactively engage with these changes in our career, profession, and work.

Students are engaged in their own career journey as upcoming experts and will critically reflect on how they can proactively develop their expertise. The course goes further and entitles the students as future leaders of an inclusive and responsible society who need to be active in shaping the development of emergent technologies and the changes in the working and organizing contexts. The course has a social, organizational perspective and does not cover the technical expertise of developing and working with AI tools.

The course includes trips to the wonderland of expertise transformation!
