Discussing justice across territorial borders

Sem01 (2024-2025) Human Rights and Globalization

We live in a world where territorial borders are rapidly losing their significance as regards economic activities and other issues, such as climate change and environmental degradation. At the same time, questions of law and justice are still largely tied to the territorial state.

This course focuses on important contemporary issues affecting the ability of human rights law to protect key interests in this globalizing world. We will take an innovative approach to human rights law to find ways in which we can discuss justice on a global scale incorporating perspectives from different disciplinary backgrounds.
