Communication and Information Studies

Most students choose to continue their studies with an MA after finishing their BA in Communication and Information Studies: English Language and Communication Studies. But you could also dive straight into a range of different positions.

So you’ve graduated—now what?

This programme of study provides you with a number of skills that you can apply in the future. You learn how people use English around the globe, in both their daily and professional lives. You become familiarised with different varieties of English and you come to understand how language changes. You study the role of English in society and in different social situations. Naturally, you also develop your own skills in spoken and written English.

What can you do after your Bachelor’s degree?

Further your education

After the English Language and Communication Studies specialisation, you could follow the continuing master’s programme, specialising in Multimodal Communication or a master’s programme in fields such as writing, editing and translation (in Dutch), language variation or discourse analysis. The specialisation also gives you access to English teacher training courses (in Dutch) in the Netherlands and abroad.

This specialisation not only gives you a strong academic background, but also trains you in professional skills useful for working in an international environment.
