VU Buildings opening hours and visiting addresses

At the moment, some side entrances of buildings on campus can be closed, and access will be available through the main entrance of the building.

The implementation of these measures contributes to several goals, such as concentrating services in the buildings that are open. This allows us to provide better services at fewer locations, while offering improved service where it remains available. This approach has a sustainable aspect, including energy use, cleaning, and waste management. It also helps to prevent or limit the unfortunately increased vandalism and theft within our buildings. 

In the event of possible disturbances or security risks, an assessment will be made to determine which additional precautionary measures (temporarily) are necessary based on a current risk assessment. This may, for example, lead to restricting access to buildings through the main entrance or requiring a student or staff ID.

We understand that these changes may cause inconvenience and ask for your understanding.

Entrance Main Building

For entrance to the Main Building, you may use the main entrance on de Boelelaan or the entrance on Campus Square.

The entrances below will remain closed until further notice and can only be accessed with an authorised access pass. Please note that new authorisation requests will not be processed.

• Entrance Main building basement from the bicycle shed (bicycle shed remains accessible)

Roof garden
From April to October, the roof garden will be open Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 19:00. Check Roof Garden on the Main Building for more information.

Study facilities
Study facilities on the ground floor and first floor are available on weekends and public holidays. The seating area of the restaurant may be used for study purposes during the opening hours in the weekend. You can check the opening hours of the study and computer areas of the University Library or check PLEQ for the current availability of study spots.

From the main entrance of the Main Building, walk left to the 6-lift group. When you get off on the 3rd floor, you will see the Agora complex on your right.

OZW building | De Boelelaan 1109 | Amsterdam

From the main entrance of the OZW building, walk left in the central hall to the lifts. Take the left lift to the 10th floor. When you get out of the lift, walk right into the Alma 1.

MF building | Van der Boechorststraat 7 | Amsterdam

From the main entrance of Gebouw MF, walk straight ahead until you can go no further. Here you go to the first floor. On the first floor, walk into the corridor and you will see the Atrium, room number MF/D-146.

From the main entrance of the Main Building, walk up the stairs on the right until you reach the foyer and then left again up the stairs to the Aula.

From the main entrance of Gebouw MF, walk straight ahead until you can go no further. Here you go to the first floor. Arriving on the first floor, walk into the corridor and here you will find Salutem 1, 2 and 3.
