Below are the regular opening hours of the University Library, study halls and service desk for the period from Monday 1 September 2025 onwards. The special opening hours during public holidays are listed below.
Regular opening hours
These will apply again from September 1 onwards.
Service desk and consultation room + study places (1st floor)
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 am - 10:00 pm
- Saturday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
- Sunday before exam week: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Special Collections (1st floor)
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Other study places (3rd to 14th floor wing B)
- Monday to Saturday: 8:00 am - 10:30 pm
- Sunday before exam week: 8:00 am - 10:30 pm
Medical Library (Amsterdam UMC)
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Good Friday – 3 April
Service desk: Open from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm
Special Collections Reading Room: closed
Other reading rooms in the Main Building: Open from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm
The University Library will be completely closed on:

Remembrance Day and Liberation Day – Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 May
