To take research to an even higher level, Amsterdam's knowledge institutions have joined forces in the Amsterdam Institute of Sport Science (AISS). Apart from the VU, the partners in AISS include the VUmc, HvA, UvA and AMC. AISS seeks close cooperation with sports organisations and the Centre for Top Sport and Education Amsterdam (CTO).
AISS focuses mainly on practice-relevant research into performance improvement, exercise and health, entrepreneurship in sport and multi- and interdisciplinary education. Internships are also coordinated from AISS. Read more at www.aiss.nl.
VU's focus on sport, exercise and health also benefits staff and students. The VU is committed to providing a broad and affordable package of sports facilities to promote health, facilitate social interaction and support sports talents. Look here for more information about the VU Sports Centre.
