Real Estate Management’s responsibilities include:
- buildings – for example, roofs, façades, walls and floors (the shell);
- installations – such as fire extinguishing systems, fire alarm systems, air treatment systems, heating and cooling systems, lifts, electrical installations, water pipes and sewage;
- toilet facilities.
Planning and implementation
The work of specifying and planning maintenance and management activities is based on a long-term maintenance plan (MJOP). Aspects such as continuity, comfort, safety and energy consumption play a key part in determining the work to be done. This work ranges from small-scale repairs and troubleshooting to major maintenance.
Work (including maintenance work) is always carried out in consultation
In the course of its work, FCO takes the users of the space into account as much as possible. Before starting work, it always consults the faculty’s/service department’s contact. This individual is informed about the plans. The matter of how to limit any inconvenience is also discussed. The wishes of the users involved, if any, are also discussed during the consultation process. The contact is the link between FCO and your faculty or service department. He/she will then see to it that this information is passed on to everyone involved. In the case of public spaces, FCO itself will handle communication with the users.
