Please be aware that only FCO’s Real Estate unit is authorized to carry out technical or construction work on campus (or have this work carried out on its behalf). This unit is responsible for all VU Amsterdam real estate, which includes the management and maintenance of the university’s buildings and technical installations.
Examples of minor modifications are:
- installing or relocating socket outlets
- routing cables
- hanging up paintings
- hanging up whiteboards
- adjusting a desk
- laying a carpet
- painting
Price list and turnaround
The price of the modification is determined based on the hours worked and the materials used. Complex work will be entrusted to a project manager. In some cases it may be necessary to outsource the work. A cost estimate will be provided if the work is expected to cost more than €1,000. The turnaround will vary and is always determined in consultation.
Request a modification
- VU Amsterdam staff members and students can use 'take action now' button.
- If you work at Amsterdam UMC or you are a tenant, you can use this ‘Request minor modifications’ form.
Please note: the budget holder of your service department or faculty must approve all modifications first. Once you have completed and submitted the web form, your request will be sent to the person who is required to authorize it. This is usually your immediate supervisor. Once your request has been authorized, it will be processed by FCO.
