Born in Lebanon; 1990, Diana Al-Halabi is now a Rotterdam-based Artist. She pursues an interdisciplinary practice, with a focus on moving image, text, and painting. Her autoethnographic research-based projects are at the core of her practice. Departing from the personal to the political, her recent project On Scales of Violence: How to Measure A Dictator? explored the expansive body of the dictator and its effect on the Patriarch. Through an intersectional feminist lens, Al-Halabi explores notions such as the political gaze, cognitive anthropometry, disableism, and freedom of movement. Al- Halabi Holds an MA in fine arts from the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam and has completed a one-year fellowship at Ashkal Alwan's Homework space program in Beirut.
