Communicating with students and staff

• VU-zine: weekly newsletter for employees

  Do you have news of interest to employees? Would you like to announce a course or event, or are you offering a new service or useful tool that will benefit employees? Then submit a message to the editor.

  Messages should always be submitted in Dutch and English and should not exceed 50 words. Placement is done in consultation with the editors.

  Target group: all VU staff

  The PersoneelsPagina (PP) is a publication of HRM. The PP is published once every two months in the university magazine Advalvas. PP provides news and background on employment conditions, human resources and policy development at VU.

  Advalvas is published on Wednesdays, 10 times a year, and is distributed free of charge on the VU campus.

• Sending newsletters and mailings

  For sending newsletters and mailings, VU Campaign uses Selligent Marketing Cloud (SMC). This is a marketing automation tool that effectively helps relationships through the student/customer journey. That means sending relevant content at the right time, to the right people, increasing conversion or engagement.

  SMC is also used as VU's mail house. Employees can use it to send their own personalized newsletters or segment-based mailings.

  SMC is linked to the CRM system that VU Amsterdam uses to manage the relationship and interaction with (potential) students, employees and relations of the university.

• VU Narrowcasting

  VU buildings have TV screens and a projector that are part of the VU Narrowcasting system. You can use VU Narrowcasting to reach people within VU with your message. Having images posted in VU Narrowcasting is free of charge.
