VU teacher Ilja Cornelisz on active blended learning

Last updated on 15 August 2024
Students control their own learning process - Ilja Cornelisz, senior lecturer Educational Sciences.

He makes sure that it is very clear to students what they have to do each week and offers the material in different ways. This way, students can take control of their learning activities. For example: students can practice online with a programme. Ilja also offers short online knowledge clips on complex subjects. An important part of his course is a weekly Q&A session in which questions of students are discussed. Ilja himself asks many interactive questions about the most important concepts. His approach ensures that the students are active. This way, Ilja can focus on helping the students understand the main concepts and the relevance of the subject.
