Careful transition with support
The IT and SOZ departments are working together on a careful plan for phasing out Zoom. We are identifying who still uses Zoom and for what purposes. In discussions with the staff members concerned, we are investigating what is needed to ensure that Teams (and Panopto where necessary) fits in well with practice. We are guiding staff members step by step in the transition to Teams, with clear explanations and practical support. New Teams functionalities are being investigated and made available where relevant.
Integration in Canvas with Teams Meetings active
Lecturers can now use the integration in Canvas with Teams Meetings to easily create online lectures and sessions. This integration is similar to the current integration with Zoom, which will be discontinued due to the termination of the Zoom license at the end of April this year.
The integration in Canvas with Zoom will remain available until the end of period 4 (end of March 2026). After this date, the integration will be deactivated and all online meetings previously scheduled with Zoom will no longer be accessible via Canvas. Sessions that have already been scheduled via the Zoom link in Canvas and take place after March, 31 need to be rescheduled by using the new Teams Meetings integration. More information can be found on vu.nl: MS Teams Meetings in education.
Support and training for working with Teams
From 18 March to 6 May, we are hosting weekly demos on various days. Each week, we offer both a Dutch and an English session. Each demo takes place from 12:50–13:20 or 16:00–16:30.
