Goods distribution and storage

Last updated on 23 March 2026
FCO Logistics provides goods receiving and distribution on campus. Central Goods Receiving is located in the Transitorium. Goods, mail and packages are received here. The VU Research Building has its own facility.

Upon receipt, it is checked that the number and condition of packages match the packaging information provided. FCO Logistics does not check the contents of packages or boxes received this is the responsibility of the recipient. Please note: Private goods or mail are not permitted to be delivered to VU Amsterdam; we will not accept them. We also do not accept perishable goods, such as flowers and cakes. You must take delivery of these yourself. Please indicate this clearly with your order.

After receipt and registration, FCO Logistics will deliver the goods to the delivery address provided with the order or deliver it to the secretary of a department (central delivery point). A signature is requested as proof of receipt. Delivery is made within 12 hours after the package is received. Distribution rounds are made to all buildings. During those rounds, any outgoing mail/packages are immediately taken back and brought to the Mailroom for shipment.

Return
Is a delivery not correct and you want to return it to the supplier? Then request a return label from the supplier yourself, stick it on the shipment and drop off your package at the Mailroom for shipment.
