Course levels (CEFR)
Each level starts four times a year:
- Module 1: Beginners (0 > A1)
- Module 2: Elementary (A1 > A2)
- Module 3: Intermediate (A2 > A2+)
- Module 4: Intermediate (A2+ > B1)
- Module 5: Upper Intermediate (B1 > B1+)
- Module 6: Upper Intermediate (B1+ > B2)

- Period 1: 7 September – 29 October 2026
- Period 2: 23 November 2026 – 28 January 2027
- Period 3: 22 February – 19 April 2027
- Period 4: 20 May – 12 July 2027
Holidays (lesson free days)
- Christmas Holidays: 19 December 2026 - 3 January 2027
- Good Friday and Easter: 26 - 29 March 2027
- Kingsday: 26 and 27 April 2027
- Liberation Day: 5 May 2027
- Ascension Day: 6 May 2027
- Pentecost: 17 May 2027
Course length: 8 weeks per level
Time table: Monday and Thursday evening 18.00 – 20.30
Assignments: approximately 5-7 hours per week
Price per module*:
excluding course book or license (from € 39.95)
- Standard/PhD: € 830
- VU students module 1 and 2: € 150
The VU co-pays for these modules, making the price only € 150 (normal price for students € 415). This only applies to international VU students. You will need proof of registration to qualify for the discount. - VU students from module 3 onwards: € 415
EC points (extracurricular, only when faculty approves and only for students)
3 points per level (80% attendance is required as well as passing the final tests). These credits indicate the workload of the course and can only count as extracurricular credits.
Application: Registration for the course starting in September 2026 will be possible from June.
