How do you ensure that students make clear progress throughout the programme and that the courses together form a cohesive whole?
With the Visible Learning Trajectories Programme (VLT)*, you can analyse and optimise the structure and coherence of your programme’s curriculum using a learning trajectory methodology developed specifically for this purpose. Using learning trajectories, you map out how courses, learning objectives, and learning outcomes are interconnected and identify opportunities for further alignment and improvement.
The methodology consists of five sessions in which you work with four to seven fellow instructors in a core team toward optimal alignment of goals at various levels: from courses to learning trajectories to learning outcomes.
The VLT contributes to:
- a clear and coherent structure of the curriculum;
- clear learning trajectories for students and teachers;
- better alignment between courses, learning trajectories, and learning outcomes;
- greater collaboration and shared responsibility within the teaching team;
- a clear programme narrative that guides curriculum development.
The VLT can also provide support in preparing for an accreditation or Mid-Term Review (MTR), following up on recommendations from these processes, or translating the principles of A Broader Mind (ABM) into the curriculum.
