During five intensive sessions, you’ll work together in a core team - guided by two VLT trainers - to align learning objectives at various levels: from subject-specific learning objectives to learning trajectory objectives, and from learning trajectory objectives to the programme’s final learning outcomes.
You’ll start with the programme’s ambitions: what kind of graduate do you aim to produce? What knowledge, skills, and attitudes do students need to develop (even further)? What specific areas do you want to emphasize at VU Amsterdam? How does the ABM narrative fit into the curriculum?
The learning trajectory methodology, which helps realise those ambitions, consists of a number of steps that will be covered over the course of five sessions.
- Session 1: Formulating learning trajectories and learning pathway objectives
- Session 2: Finalizing learning trajectory objectives
- Session 3: Starting the curriculum analysis by linking course learning objectives to learning trajectory objectives
- Session 4: Continuing the curriculum analysis by linking learning trajectory objectives to final learning outcomes
- Session 5: SWOT analysis per learning trajectory, overall curriculum analysis, and action plan for the future
Between sessions, coordination takes place between the core team and the subject coordinators.
