Economic and financial data analysis with Python

Economic and financial data analysis with Python

Are you ready to supercharge your data problem-solving skills in economics and finance using Python?

This course has been specially designed to help participants learn the foundations of Python programming and simultaneously acquire the foundations of data analysis in Python over the course of two adjacent Saturdays. It is a practical and hands-on course focused on active participation and learning.

Aim of training
The main aim is to provide participants with an introduction to some of the most used Python tools in data analysis. To be precise, we will make use of Jupyter Notebooks in combination with packages widely used in data science and statistical applications such as Numpy, Pandas and Matplotlib.

Duration of the training
The training takes place over the course of two Saturdays.

For whom is this course?
It is aimed at beginners with no, or little, prior programming experience. It is fully interactive and participants will need to address programming problems hands-on throughout the two days.

This course is designed for participants of any background with a few years of working experience. The primary focus is on analysing economic and financial data with Python. Thus, a strong (personal) interest in economics and finance, as well as the drive to learn how to program, is required.

What is required from participants?
Participants are required to bring their own laptop with the ability to connect to wireless WiFi networks.

Where does this course take place?
This course is taught in-person at the VU Campus in Amsterdam.
