Strategic partnership as a starting point

Professionalisation for directors and internal supervisors in healthcare institutions, housing corporations, educational institutions, and other organisations in the (semi-)public domain.

Prof. dr. ir. Rienk Goodijk, professor in Public Governance: "Supervision is a line of work and requires an ever-increasing professionalisation, also in the way governance and internal supervision relate to each other and interact with each other. Supervision is more than ‘remotely’ checking that the board member is performing well. Board members need supervisors who can spar with them, and who keep them sharp.

During the course Board & Supervision, we discuss the latest insights and developments in the field of public governance and the relationship, the strategic partnership between governance and supervision, based on research and best practices. With leading VU lecturers and guest speakers from the sector, you will use practical cases and governance dilemmas to create a translation to your practice. Every session is set up such that there is plenty of room for discussion and for exchanging experiences.
