Application documents

As part of your application for a bachelor's programme you will have to upload required documents in the application portal in your VU dashboard.

Are you applying with a non-Dutch diploma for one of our English-taught Bachelor's programmes? Then you can find further information below.

Please note that this page is currently under construction. Bachelor Application File formats will become available in the first week of October.

What documents do I need?

  • Bachelor Application File

    Before you start your application, first check the admission requirements on the programme page of the programme you wish to apply for.

    To complete your application, please download and complete the Application File format below:

    Numerus Fixus: Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, Psychology

    • Bachelor Application File - Numerus Fixus Will be made available in the first week of October

    Selective programmes: PPE and Law in Society

    • Law in Society - Application File Will be made available in the first week of October
    • PPE - Application File Will be made available in the first week of October

    All other programmes

    • Bachelor Application File (Faculty of Science, School of Business and Economics) Will be made available in the first week of October
    • Bachelor Application File (Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Faculty of Religion and Theology) Will be made available in the first week of October
    • Completed VU Study Choice Check questionnaire (available in the application portal)

    Please note: you do not have to send original documents when applying. For the application phase uploading scans of your previous education documents is sufficient.  

  • Proof of English Language Proficiency

    Although complete applications are preferred, you can begin your application before you have completed the test and then submit your passing score once you have been conditionally admitted.

  • VU Study Choice Check

    Most Bachelor's degree programmes have adopted VU Study Choice Check. The application process includes a check to assess whether the programme is really suitable for you. You do this with VU Study Choice Check, which consists of a mandatory questionnaire in the VU Dashboard and (for most degree programmes) an online activity for which you will be invited via e-mail.

  • Where can I upload the documents?

    You are asked to upload these documents in the application portal in your personal dashboard on vu.nl.
    This dashboard can be accessed by logging in with your VUnet-ID username and password.
