Studying English Linguistics

In combination with the Ba programme Literature and Society, this minor programme might serve as a perfect preparation for a teacher training programme (Master’s level). Please note however, that you are only eligible for the teacher training programme at VU (Ma Educatie in de Taal- en Cultuurwetenschappen) if your proficiency in Dutch is at B2-level or higher.

In this minor programme, you immerse yourself in topics that have to do with English but that were not emphasized in your Ba programme in Literature and Society. These are English language and linguistics.

After combining your knowledge of English literature (from your Ba programme) with this new knowledge on English linguistics, you will know everything you need to know about the English language and literature if you want to join a teacher training programme.

Change your world, take the minor English Linguistics
