Choose a minor of your interest and deepen or broaden your knowledge

Do you want to deepen or broaden your knowledge within or outside your field of study? A minor offers you this opportunity.

In the first semester of your third bachelor's year, you can decide how to fill in part of your programme in the elective space (30 EC). Within the elective space you can choose a university minor or a faculty minor. University minors are usually accessible to all VU Amsterdam students. With a faculty minor you can specialise yourself within a field. In this case, you often have to ask permission in advance.

As a VU Amsterdam student, you can choose from more than 110 minors. If you are not a VU Amsterdam student, you could still take several minors at VU Amsterdam as a secondary subject student.
