Are you interested in ancient culture and history? Would you like to learn an ancient language?

Then this minor is for you!

Admission and registration

  • Admission

    This minor is offered in collaboration between the two Amsterdam universities, VU Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam (UvA). These institutions have clustered their knowledge and expertise in the Amsterdam Centre for Ancient Studies and Archaeology (ACASA)

    Religion in Antiquity, but also the Elementary Akkadian courses are taught on the UvA campus in the city centre. Registration for these courses takes place at UvA.

    Some courses take place in the second semester.

    ​​Other students: If you don’t study at VU Amsterdam please take a look at this procedure on how to apply for this minor.

    Important additional information: Religion in Antiquity and the Elementary Akkadian courses are taught on the UvA campus in the city centre. Registration for this courses takes place at the UvA. Therefore, you need to register as an elective course student at the UvA via Studielink in order to take this courses. Be sure to complete this in time.
