Truly an interdisciplinary institute, the governance structure of ASI is spread across most faculties of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
The board of ASI is constituted by the deans of all participating faculties:

- Prof Arjen van Witteloostuijn, Dean School of Business and Economics
- Prof Frank van Ommeren, Dean Faculty of Law
- Prof Gregor Halff, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities
- Prof Maurits van Tulder, Dean Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences
- Prof Fedde Scheele, Dean Faculty of Dentistry (ACTA)
The Scientific Steering Committee includes research leaders from all participating VU faculties and provides strategic advice to the management team. You find full list of the members here.
A management team is responsible for the daily management of the institute. It consists of
