Within the Dutch Law Bachelor’s Program, the Department teaches three large mandatory courses, as well as courses in three minors: ‘General Law Practice’, ‘Law of the Future’, and ‘Forensic Criminology’. Furthermore, the Dutch Law Master’s Program has a criminal law specialization track, which is administered and taught by the Department.
The Department further coordinates the criminal law trajectory in the ‘Law in Society’ Bachelor’s Program, where it is also involved in the teaching of several courses.
In addition, the Department is in charge of the ‘Criminology’ Bachelor’s- and Master’s Programmes, as well as of the ‘International Crimes, Conflict and Criminology’ Master’s Program. The ‘Criminology’ Bachelor’s Program offers a broad introduction into the field of criminology, which includes juridical, psychological, socio-scientific and strictly criminological courses. The Master’s Program, in turn, offers a specialization track in ‘Investigative Criminology’, which focuses on analysing crime-problems, as well as a specialization track in ‘Intervention Criminology’, directed at ending criminal careers. The ‘International Crimes, Conflict and Criminology’ Master’s Program offers an interdisciplinary study of grave and large-scale human rights violations
