Mindful Library

Read, learn and come together. The Mindful Library is a place to quietly read a book and meet like-minded people. NEWConnective offers weekly guided meditations in the Mindful Library and in the quiet room. On top of that, a monthly Mindful Meetup takes place where we explore different themes and ways of meditating.

Surrounded by inspiring books, the Mindful Library offers a place for reflection, connection and discovery.

Delve into the philosophies behind meditation and mindfulness

Do you want more than just meditation and would you like to learn more about the philosophies behind it? In the Mindful Library, on the 12th floor of the Library Tower, you'll find hundreds of books on mindfulness, both physical copies (which you can read on the couches in the Mindful Library) and e-books.

Meditation, Mindfulnest and organising your own event

  • Meditation

    Meditation can offer people many things, whether it's a moment of calm in your day, or practicing staying more in the here and now, meditation can be a great way to engage in self-examination.

    Would you like to meditate more? But find it hard to get yourself to do it or would you rather meditate together?

    NEWConnective organizes weekly meditations. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays we meet for a guided meditation of 20-30 minutes.
    On Mondays and Thursdays the meditations take place in the Stilteruimte (HG 1A-53) and on Tuesdays and Fridays in the meditation room of the Mindful Library (HG 12B-02).

  • Mindfulnest

    Do you prefer to meditate alone, in an enclosed space? Then you can catch your breath in the "Mindfulnest," listen to the meditation and mindfulness exercises offered, sit in silence or use your own meditation app. You will find the Mindfulnest in study room NU-1A49.

  • Organise something yourself in the Mindful Library

    Do you want to organise something around meditation or mindfulness yourself, or are you already organising something but looking for help or a suitable space? The Mindful Library is for anyone looking for a community to share your findings around meditation with. Come along during one of the meditations or a Mindful Meetup or get in touch at newconnective@vu.nl
