New steering cycle completed
In mid-December, the Executive Board adopted the working group's advice on adjustments to the steering cycle. Colleagues from the Finance and Administration departments are supporting the organization in implementing this advice.
On 6 November, with the directors of operations, directors of services and business controllers, we discussed the impact of the proposed changes to the cycle, and what it would take to start working this way from 2025.
The most notable changes are that:
- There is now a joint launch of the Framework Memorandum in spring;
- The new Institutional Plan (IP) will be translated into objectives and indicators;
- Annual plans of faculties and departments will be ready in concept before the summer;
- The P10 report has been dropped;
- There will be a link from domain dashboards to the P reports;
- And much more...more information on that will follow later.
These changes allow us to focus even more on our strategic ambitions and goals. In addition, they ensure that we have more time to coordinate among ourselves about priorities, services and jobs on which to collaborate. We are also making smarter use of the data we have in-house, which in time will make it less time and effort to produce reports.
There are a number of preconditions we must meet in order to work in this way. In addition to the Framework Memorandum, for example, the Framework Letter and the formats for annual plans and annual report (P12) must also be ready earlier. The monthly (financial) closing is also an important precondition for the new way of working. In order to get off to a good start in 2025, the Finance department will test this in November.
In December, the Executive Board will decide on the new cycle. After that, we will inform everyone who works with the cycle in detail about the changes.
